This weekend, these 3 southern people had to get out of this busy town for a little bit and get out into some nature. We are so used to being in the country and not at all used to living where there are a million people in one city! We needed some fresh, quiet air so we went about 40 minutes out of town to this nice park. Also, a perk of military life is being able to get into all national parks for free!
My husband heard about this place. Lake Poway. It was a great day for hiking. Very overcast, so it wasn't too hot (sorry East coast friends).
The views were gorgeous.
I know Walker looks like he is in a space suit but he insisted that we "zip him up" since it was sprinkling a little bit.
We stopped for a picnic about halfway through.
then we let him get out and do a little hiking with us. He loves hiking about as much as his Daddy. But he stops to look at EVERY SINGLE ROCK!
side note: Walker was NOT in the backpack during this picture of W standing on the edge of this rock!

We had alot of fun. I think we hiked about 4 miles! It was nice to get away on an overcast Saturday morning. We all came home and took about a 3 hour nap!
